Cthulhu Mythos News: The Lies of Solace, an Arkham Horror Novel, is Now on Sale plz RT

From fantasyflightgames.com-

The police wagon stopped in front of the gateway to the Stonegroves estate. The night was clear and the distant lights of the mansion glittered between the still leaves of the trees. Beyond the gate, the gravel drive stretched away, pale under the starlight until the darkness under the trees swallowed it. Unlike when Raker had visited earlier that day, the wrought-iron gates were shut.

“Guess no one is going to open the gate for us,” said Sheriff Engle. He sat with his shotgun across his knees, his bulk wedged between Raker and the right-hand door. The inside of the wagon smelled of motor oil and nervous men pressed together. The other wagon would be behind them, half a dozen in each, all with shotguns and enough ammunition to fight a war. Raker hoped it would not be needed, but if it was, that it would be enough.

A man in the uniform of a footman stepped out of the small door next to the main gates. Raker felt the sheriff stiffen next to him, his hand going to the trigger of the side-by-side. The footman walked up to the front of the wagon, a puzzled smile on his face. He wore a long-tailed coat in black, dark pants, and black shoes polished to a mirror finish. Silver buttons down the front of his grey waistcoat reflected the glare of the headlights. His eyes looked a little red, and he had the slightly bleary look of someone just woken from an uncomfortable sleep.

The Lies of Solace, the second novel in The Lord of Nightmares Trilogy, is now on sale at your local bookseller, our webstore, and digitally for your Nook, Kindle, and iBooks device!

Based in the Arkham Horror universe, this disturbing tale explores the depths to which desperation and tragedy can plunge us, and the grim consequences that await those who surrender to grief and pain.

When Jacqueline Fine experiences disturbing visions of a robed man before the crumbling edifice of a city, she's determined to prevent her nightmare from becoming a reality. Meanwhile, an Arkham doctor tries desperately to save his only daughter from the hands of a dark cult, and a distraught bootlegger attempts to unravel the mystery behind the sudden silence of his fiancée's letters. Will these three strangers be able to save everything they love from a terrifying future, or has their suffering only just begun?

Cthulhu Mythos RPG News: A Preview of The Lies of Solace, an Upcoming Arkham Horror Novel

From fantasyflightgames.com-

Jacqueline Fine is having visions…visions of a robed man before the crumbling edifice of a city, of bones and flesh at his feet, of blood and terrifying words. She's determined to stop this latest vision from happening, but can she change fate, or only allow herself to be swept along in the tides that come?

Coming to book stores in just a few short weeks, John French’s The Lies of Solace is the second novel in The Lord of Nightmares Trilogy. This gripping story is based on the popular Arkham Horror board game, in which investigators clash with the ancient terrors that plague the city of Arkham.

Cthulhu Mythos News: Bones of the Yopasi, a Arkham Horror novel

Fromhttp://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_news.asp?eidn=3252

The Sunday night to Monday morning shift was always a slow night at Arkham Asylum. Monroe never normally cared which shift he worked, but this one was always slow to the point of boredom. During the week, the inmates were often feisty and in need of a hefty baton to the back of the legs before a doctor could arrive on the scene to administer sedatives.

Monroe hadn’t started out as a cruel warder, but years of being spat at, clawed, and otherwise abused by the lunatics kept confined in the asylum had driven any hint of compassion for his charges from his body long ago. Monroe had assumed the role of jailer more and more, until he no longer thought of the men behind bars as human.

They were inmates, numbers, and conditions.

Problems to be contained.

Yes, the Sunday to Monday shift was always a slow night. Which was why this particular shift would stand out in his memory as being so different.

Fantasy Flight Games is pleased to announce Bones of the Yopasi, the second novel in The Dark Waters Trilogy! In this thrilling sequel, the award-winning Graham McNeill continues the harrowing story begun in Ghouls of the Miskatonic. Featuring the mysterious and terrifying setting of Arkham Horror, Bones of the Yopasi draws inspiration from the eldritch universe created by H.P. Lovecraft.

Cthulhu Mythos Literature News: A preview of The Lies of Solace, an upcoming Arkham Horror Novel

What did her not writing mean? Had she forgotten him? Or was it that damn family of hers? The ice-eyed mother and the slab-bodied pig of a brother—had they found out that she still wrote to him? The thought would not shake, though, and had clung to his thoughts as soon as he’d known he would have to run. He looked at the train ticket again. He would find out why she had not written soon enough. After all, he had no one else he could run to.
