The Stockholm H.P. Lovecraft Festival

Howard Philips Lovecraft (1890 – 1937), the 19th century master of the weird tale, is with his stories of cosmic horror and humanity’s insignificance the best writer spawned by the pulp milieu of the 1920s/30s. During the last week of March we celebrate him with a series of events. The preliminary program follows below. Invited guests this far: Sean Branney, Mike Dalager, Andrew Leman (HPLHS), Anders Fager (Swedish Cults) and a very special appearance by one of Innsmouth's most famous sons, Ogham Waite.

Anders Fager (Swedish Cults) reads from The Shadow Over Innsmouth and discusses Lovecraft.
March 27:
Studio 3, Sergels torg (subway stop t-centralen), 5:30 pm. Admission free
Screening of Keeper of the Light (Robert P. Olsson, 2010), winner of the 2010 Brown Jenkin Award at The H.P. Lovecraft Filmfestival in Portland Oregon.
6 pm: Lovecraft reading/discussion. Guests tba
March 28:

Lovecraft movie night with screenings of the silent film "The Call of Cthulhu" and the talkie "The Whisperer in Darkness", both productions by The Howard Philips Lovecraft Historical Society.

Opening of the exhibition featuring original art from Viktoria Laeben-Roséns graphic novelette adaptation of "The Whisperer in Darkness".

6 - 8:30 pm. Please note! You need to be 20 or older. It's in a bar after all.
Put your knowledge of all things Lovecraft to the test! Fine prizes from The H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society. Eldritch tunes provided by dj The Abominable Showman and others.

Serieteket presents – Bazaar of the Bizarre.
HPLHS, The Sci Fi Bookshop, Hog av Serier, publishing houses Kolik, Malört and Vertigo sell Lovecraft books and merchandise with more exhibitors tba.

The Stockholm H.P. Lovecraft Festival signs off in style with a concert featuring Ogham Waite. He will make you swoon with his crooning voice and briny beats from his amphibian cohorts will force you to staple your flippers to the floor if you for some reason don't want to tap along!
