Forget Star Wars 3D. Episode VII: Luke Skywalker deals with his emotional baggage
STAR WARS SUPER FANS CREATE PARODY TRIBUTE
TO CELEBRATE THE RE-RELEASE OF THE PHANTOM MENACE IN 3-D!!
With the mega-anticipated re-release of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace in 3-D, which tells the story of how the saga began, Los Angeles filmmakers Matthew Solomon andJordan Ancel have created a dark-comedic tribute to the saga by exploring how the saga might have continued.
"We have always wondered what happened after "Return of the Jedi." Luke had to have some issues, right?", Solomon asks.
"Star Wars" Episode VII: a 3-part, web-mini-series that was spawned from a Twitter sparring match between Matthew Solomon and Star Wars super-fan Lisa-Marie Long, who plays Mara Jade in Part 3 of Episode VII. Solomon re-teamed with Ancel, who directed him previously on the Rebecca Black "Friday" spoof, entitled "Bob White's Monday". On how this new collaboration came about,Ancel says: "We were comparing our action-figure collections while editing the "Monday" video. That's when Matthew told me about his idea to do Episode VII. I thought it was brilliant and I so wanted to be a part of it!"
Episode VII: A New Conflict explores the Dark Side of a noble Jedi who is suffering from the emotional stress of learning that his father was an evil Sith Lord who choked people with his mind, and that the girl he made out with was actually his twin sister. Upon the urging of Han and Leia Solo, Luke Skywalker has now entered a private and discreet rehabilitation center. His therapy is overseen by the wise and caring Dr. Antego, played by Killebrew-Mason.
"We are true fans of the Star Wars Saga!" says Solomon. "This Kung Fu Man Films production is meant as a tribute to George Lucas, the Star Wars saga and all of its fans."
