And players who laid down their hard earned cash for this game (plus subscription fees!) are not happy!
This was going to be the game that changed the face of the MMORPG. Placing "action" over strategy, SOE thought simplification of the genre would appeal to a larger audience than that of the traditional MMO gamer.
The result? A dumbed down game that hackers exploited fully to ruin the game for everyone else.
Whats worse is that beta testers reported these flaws before launch and SOE did NOTHING about it.
Worse, SOE president, John Smedley's promised that with paid subscription, there would be monthly content updates. In reality, content updates came late, if they came out at all. Such as the St. Patrick’s Day Content Update coming out on April 4th, well after the holiday.
Feel free to weigh in with comments. Why do you think this game failed?
