DC Universe Online Community News: Trouble Brewing Over Player Conduct

Trouble seems to be brewing over foul language in DCUO.

Personally I'm more annoyed by the raid que and people selling DCUO Cash.

From http://forums.station.sony.com/dcuopc/posts/list.m?topic_id=47608

"In our continuing effort to provide the best gaming experience possible, we would like to take a moment to remind everyone of the rules that govern in-game behavior, and specifically the rules that govern what kinds of language are acceptable. These rules exist so that all players can feel welcome and enjoy the game. Recently, due in part to an increased number of complaints, we have accordingly increased our enforcement. There are three items in the rules that immediately apply:

"Foul language is not permitted, in any language.

Excessive use of foul language including swear words (including their commonly-used abbreviations), real-world racial slurs, and other language that is designed to cause grief, will be considered a disruption. The existence of any chat/text filtering function is not a license to be profane.

You may not use any sexually explicit, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive language, in any language.

The presence of any form of preventative filter or other game features is not license or permission, tacit or otherwise, to use such language in any form.

The use of offensive language will result in disciplinary action being taken against the account that may include official warnings, account suspensions, or account termination depending on the severity of the incident which will be determined by a GM and Lead GM. Multiple suspensions or account terminations will result in the termination of all SOE game accounts.

You may not harass or threaten other players (sexually, racially, or otherwise).

Harassment is defined as any unwanted or unwelcome behavior beyond the limits of good taste and appropriate game context. Final determination of harassment and severity will be made by a GM and their Supervisor after a thorough investigation to ensure that each violation is treated fairly and objectively."

We hope you will understand and join us in providing a friendly environment that all players can enjoy. If you have further questions, please feel free to contact Customer Support or review the Rules of Conduct here."

So watch your @#%$#v language you &^$^ing mother @$%^$ers!
